Pre Arrival Q&A Workshop

Every month the M&FRC will provide a Pre Arrival Q&A workshop briefing to answer any questions inbound members and their families may have about the Scott AFB community. This Q&A brief will be via Zoom, be sure to locate the workshop and register in the Calendar of Events tab. The information provided below will also assist you in finding housing, school district information, and other pertinent information about Scott AFB and the local community.

  • The Scott AFB School Liaison and the Parent Advocates for Students and Schools (PASS) will assist you in meeting your children’s needs.  To contact the Scott AFB School Liaison please contact Dr. Cindy Doil at Cynthia.doil@us.af.mil or call (618) 256-9595. Additional information on local public, private schools, and homeschooling networks can be found at Military OneSource Military Installations.
  • The Exceptional Family Member Program – Family Support (EFMP – FS) Coordinator is available to assist families that have individuals with special needs. They can answer questions, provide referrals, and help families connect with local and on-base resources. For more information, please contact the M&FRC at 618-256-8668.
  • Scott AFB Postal Service Center will provide you with a free post office box to assist in the transition to Scott AFB. They may be contacted at DSN: 576-2956, Comm: (618) 256-2956, or by email at Scott.psc.address.request@us.af.mil​

Should you arrive at Scott during a period of inclement weather, please visit the Scott AFB Facebook page, the Scott AFB website, or call the Scott Straight Talk Line at Comm: (618) 256-7232 to determine late reporting instructions, base closures or delays.

Outbound

Receiving orders for a new assignment can be an exciting but stressful time. The M&FRC is available to assist as you prepare to relocate and offers a variety of services for assistance.

Smooth Move - PCS Workshop

An optional workshop for military members and spouses preparing for a PCS move. Individuals planning their final separation or retirement relocation are also invited to attend. Briefers include M&FRC, TRICARE, Personal Property Office, EFMP, and Base Housing.

 If you need specific assistance in planning your upcoming move, contact the M&FRC Relocation team specialists to schedule an individual appointment to discuss this process.

Sponsorship

All AF members should be assigned a sponsor at their gaining location to assist them in preparing for their move as well as helping during the new arrival. 

If you have not heard from a sponsor and within 90 days of your RNLTD, contact the M&FRC for assistance in locating your sponsor.

All sponsors are required to complete the virtual electronic Sponsorship Application Training (eSAT). 

To request supplemental sponsor training for your unit please contact the M&FRC at (618) 256-8668.

Unaccompanied Assignments

Individuals selected for an “UNACCOMPANIED ASSIGNMENT” who are married OR have dependents are required to complete a “Remote Tour Briefing”.

Members will receive Information and enrollment into the M&FRC’s Hearts Apart Program for family members of those with an unaccompanied assignment. Spouses are highly encouraged to attend with the member. To schedule your Remote Tour Briefing please call the M&FRC at (618) 256-8668.

Loan Locker

The M&FRC sponsors a free Loan Locker to provide newly arrived and departing members of Team Scott a place to borrow household items as they await the arrival or departure of their own items.

 The Loan Locker is staffed 0700 – 1600 Monday - Friday. The Loan Locker is closed every third Thursday of the month for training, and on federal holidays, and base down days. Please call (618) 256-8668 for assistance.

Items available for loan include folding tables, kitchen items such as cookware, dishes, and small appliances (toasters, coffee maker). Linens are not available.

Items may be extended beyond 30 days in certain situations, based on availability. “In-place” personnel may not utilize the Loan Locker due to limited availability of items.
